Suominen Nonwovens issues layoff warning

SUOMINEN NONWOVENS ISSUES LAYOFF WARNING                                        

Due to the general market situation, and on the basis of estimates by customers,
a temporary decline is predicted in demand for nonwovens produced by Suominen.  
Therefore, the Suominen Nonwovens business unit will initiate employee          
negotiations concerning potential lay-offs that involve the entire personnel,   
approximately 190 people. The intention is to implement the lay-offs, estimated 
to total 80 days this year, in short periods, applicable to the entire staff, or
parts of it, depending on the development of demand for nonwovens.
