(Junior) Legal Counsel

We are now looking for a legal counsel with a couple of years of experience for a full-time, permanent position in Helsinki. You get to work on a variety of tasks and to develop both your legal skills as well as business understanding.

This is a new position and the precise job description of the main tasks can be tailored based on your interest and skill level. It will in any case be a mix of strategic, tactical and operational tasks, where your responsibilities will grow as you gain experience. We can guarantee you a steep learning curve.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • supporting the company in all areas of legal support, including commercial and corporate legal matters, legal compliance, claims and disputes
  • agreement drafting and reviewing, negotiations and general legal advice
  • assisting in the improvement of existing agreement templates and in the creation of new ones
  • assisting in developing, maintaining and implementing Code of Conduct, policies, guidelines and best practices
  • providing training on legal matters for relevant members of the staff
  • supporting in arranging Board and Annual General Meetings
  • ownership and development of contract management system
  • assisting in various administrative tasks, e.g. related to corporate governance, insider management, enterprise risk management, privacy, legalization of documents, etc.

This position reports to SVP, HR & Legal.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Master’s degree in Law
  • 1-3 years of postgraduate experience as an in-house lawyer or in a law firm
  • practical experience in commercial and corporate law as well as contract drafting and review
  • capability to learn new things quickly
  • a proactive attitude, with the ability to work autonomously, but also to judge when it is necessary or beneficial to request for guidance
  • strong analytical capability and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • excellent skills in Finnish and English, other language skills are considered as an advantage
