In line with our commitment to sustainable development, we are continually working to produce ever-thinner bags with no compromise on quality. We prioritise taking environmental issues into account and aim to create high-quality retail packaging using minimum amounts of raw material, maximising use of recycled materials and by reusing our production waste. This gives us possibility to offer a number of T-shirt bags and garbage sacks produced from recycled materials.

Helping consumers recycle
Suominen Flexibles launched an innovative recycling initiative in Finland in 2007 to encourage consumers to recycle one of the most widely used packaging products, the carrier bag. This was coordinated with Lassila & Tikanoja, an environmental management and property and plant support services company.
The recycling points are located in shops and shopping centres in Finland alongside existing recycling facilities for returnable bottles and/or bottle banks. Plastic carrier bags deposited at these points are collected by Lassila & Tikanoja and delivered for sorting and regranulation before being returned to Suominen to make new carrier bags or garbage sacks.
